Veteran's Administration (VA) Loan Program

The Veteran's Administration Home Improvement Loan Program is jointly administered by DBAS and the United States Veteran's Administration to provide low interest rate loans to qualified American Samoan veterans to construct new single-family homes or renovate existing homes in American Samoa.

Maximum Loan Amount: $417,000.00

Interest Rate: 5.00% to 7.00% per annum

Term: Up to 15 years

Eligibility: Qualified American Samoa Veterans

Current Rate: 5.5% fixed
Loans for qualified Veterans of up to $140,000 for repair, new home construction, or purchase of land
Veterans have up to one year to complete construction before they begin making loan payments
